Over My Head

Alice Di Micele is a singer-songwriter with 16 albums of original music including her 2022 release Every Seed We Plant. Di Micele has 35 years of of touring under her belt and has played at many festivals and venues across the US. The first album she bought herself at 11 years old was Fleetwood Mac‘s Rumours and she has been inspired by Christine McVie‘s singing and songwriting since she first heard the group as a child. When Christine passed away recently, Di Micele took a deep dive into her music and decided to do a tribute to McVie by singing one of her songs.

“It’s strange to say goodbye to so many of my musical heroes as I get older so it seems fitting to pay tribute to their legacies by keeping their music alive and bringing something new to the songs.” says Alice.  “As a young singer, hearing women with lower voices was so inspiring since my voice naturally sits in a lower range. Christine has written so many amazing songs and her legacy is long. It was hard to choose which of her songs to sing but ultimately,  I chose to cover Over My Head because it’s the first tune I remember hearing her sing. Her voice has been embedded into my soul ever since and I know I will always carry a part of that with me. Thanks for the inspiration, Christine – from the bottom of my heart.”
