I Wanna Love

I Wanna Love is an anthem that celebrates loving ourselves and our bodies. I’ve been playing this song on tour for over a year now and every show I get women coming to ask which album it’s on and men saying “My wife/sister/mom/daughter needs to hear this song.” It speaks to the way we, especially women, have been taught to hate our own bodies and to try to change ourselves by losing weight, dying our hair, and trying to fit into the mold of “femininity.” The song celebrates the beauty of all women and people of all shapes and sizes.

It features Alice’s backing band Force of Nature: Andy Casad on searing electric guitar, Rob Kohler on bass, and Nick Kirby on drums with special guests Bret Levick on electric guitar, Jenny Conlee-Drizos (The Decemberists) on Hammond B3.
