On her new record, Alice collaborated with producer Bret Levick (Gifthorse), who co-produced and co-arranged the record plus co-wrote the first track, leading Alice’s music into new territory. Pop, jazz, and rock and roll undercurrents flow beneath folk bedrock on this record. Her long-time bassists, Rob Kohler and Damian Erskine joined talented players Bret Levick, Jenny Conlee-Drizos (The Decemberists), Gene Black (Joe Cocker’s guitarist), Skip Edwards (Dwight Yoakum, Johnny Rivers), David Jacobs-Strain, Andy Thorn (Leftover Salmon), Terence Higgins (Ani DiFranco), Barry Phillips, Dean Angermeier, Bob Evoniuk, Mikey Stevens, Matthew Kriemelman (Blue Man Group), and Christo Pellani (Air Supply) on this album. Alice recorded her vocals and guitar tracks at her Tiny Wonderland studio in Southern Oregon and sent tracks back and forth with the musicians “pandemic style.”
